Chad Elliott and Oceanside Jewelers were recently profiled for Main Street Oceanside's Business Spotlight in their summer 2014 magazine. The article details Chad's history in the jewelry industry and Oceanside Jeweler's approach to providing excellent customer one-on-one customer service to produce custom jewelry of design or budget.
"Chad Elliott has manufactured higher-end jewelry for designers and designed his own jewelry lines for such stores as Saks, Nordstrom, and Bergdorf Goodman. It usually was marketed under other labels, both in Los Angeles and in San Diego.
He bought Oceanside Jewelers in 2008, but the store has been at 222 N. Coast Highway since 1989."
"...In general, Elliott said, patrons can get a much better deal at an independent store than at a "big box"which stocks many rings mass produces by the thousands.
At his store, he said, he can show his portfolios and catalogues with various designs, and he and the customer "really work together at the price they want and scale the idea to fit the customer's budget" the same design can work "at many price points" he said.
Here, the customercan get a "locally produced piece of jewelry and have a conversation with a jeweler instead of a sales person. He does all the casting and finishing in-house. "These hands make all the jewelry," Chad said.
But the store also does a lot of repair and restoration, restoring vintage jewelry and repairing fine watches, such as Rolex, Cartier, and Tag Heuer. "We do real quality restoration," he said..."
