A lot of what we do here at Oceanside Jewelers is custom jewelry design. Frequently, that includes incorporating materials or design elements from pre-existing jewelry that a client brings in; perhaps an old piece with quality stones but an outdated look, or a family heirloom that is in disrepair or doesn’t get worn enough. From there Chad works with the client on creating a new jewelry design that incorporates diamonds, precious stones and metals into a new, yet meaningful piece that reflects the owner’s own style. For this particular job, our client brought in a beautiful cushion cut tanzanite, along with several worn or broken mountings. From there Chad was able to construct a stunning new ring contrasting the blue/purple of the tanzanite with 14k rose and white gold, accented with pink sapphires and diamonds from the old mountings. And what materials we weren’t able to use directly in the finished piece we credited 100% of the full trade in value towards the project. In the end Chad was able to transform these old materials that never saw the light of day into a beautiful new ring that will see another lifetime of enjoyment, as only a jeweler owned and operated store could do.
